ABOUT NEUROTOXINS

wHAT IT IS

Neurotoxins are an FDA-approved treatment that has been used medically since the 1970s. Safe and highly effective, neurotoxin treatments like Botox®, Dysport®, and Xeomin® give the skin a smooth, renewed appearance that looks natural. These treatments require zero downtime and are quick to administer.

Neurotoxins target the underlying causes of wrinkles and frown lines by blocking the nerve signals that cause muscle movement. This action allows wrinkles to soften and prevents new wrinkles from forming, leading to a more youthful appearance.

How it works

The treatment is quick and can typically be completed with a few tiny injections in less than 30 minutes. Noticeable results are generally observed 5-7 days after treatment, with full results visible 14 days post-treatment.

FAQs

  • The amount of neurotoxin needed for Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin depends on the treatment areas (such as forehead, 11s, or crow’s feet), muscle strength, and depth of lines. At Momo Aesthetics, every client receives a complimentary consultation so the injector can assess facial movement and create a plan based on your goals.

  • Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin injections at Momo Aesthetics are usually described as a quick pinch. The needle is very fine, injections are fast, and most clients report minimal discomfort without numbing.

  • Neurotoxin injections such as Botox and Dysport have little to no downtime. Most clients return to work or daily activities right away. Mild redness or swelling at injection sites may occur but usually fades within a few hours. Bruising is uncommon.

  • Results from neurotoxin treatments typically last 3 to 6 months. Longevity depends on the treated area, muscle activity, and how your body responds to the product.

  • Botox®, Dysport®, and Xeomin® are all neurotoxin injectables used to soften wrinkles and prevent new lines. They work in similar ways but differ slightly in formulation and spread. Your injector at Momo Aesthetics will explain the differences and recommend the best option for you.
